Swedish Madness: John Dahlbäck, Dada Life, Sebjak, Tony Senghore

It almost seems like that production-wise, Sweden became the center of the electronic dance music. With so many great and popular acts in the world of house and electro, the Swedes are doing really well over the last few months. Here's a bunch of cracking new tracks from Swedish producers that will blow your mind away!

For instance, here the newest single of John Dahlbäck called "Life". This track honoured as the Essential New Tune on Pete Tong's radio show, and got supported from every big name in the business. I bet you've heard it already, even if you didn't recognize that it was this. With the really catchy melody and Dahlbäck's extraordinary production skills, this one is a can't miss track. Released 28th February on Big Beat Records.

Now let's talk about electro, and its primary Swedish product Dada Life! The new sample of the guys' "Rolling Stone T-Shirt" track finally arrived! They played it on festivals back in 2010, while Cazzette played out their remix on NYE, so we're waiting this for a really long time. No release date yet though, but at least we know that it will be out on Dada Life's So Much Dada imprint.

Yesterday I posted a new remix by Sebjak, and the day after here's a brand new original track from him. "Follow Me" is a really decent melodic house track, that will gain massive support really soon, that's for sure!
If you like it, you have to wait for the Beatport release on 19th March, while for the worldwide release you have to wait until 2nd April! Enjoy this teaser until then!

And finally, asa bonus, I'm going to post a free track from Tony Senghore. He remixed the classic track "Bassface" from French collective Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team. The original mix was a big hit for me, this one is really wicked aswell, check it out!

Wednesday update: TJR, Needs, Doctr, Crumps

After posting this mega EP, I've still got awesome stuff left. Let's check out today's update with massive releases from TJR and Doctr, and previews from upcoming talents Needs and Crumps! Enjoy!

After releasing the electrifying "Funky Vodka" last week on Rising Music, TJR is back in the business with another new track, this time on Pop Rox Muzik imprint. After the playful and drunky atmosphere of the former track, this time he brings out his harder side with a dancefloor destroyer. Massive electro basslines all over the place, TJR is already back at his best! Though we have to wait more than a month for the release, since it is set for 6th April!
TJR - Feel It (original) - Pop Rox Muzik by TJR

After introducing NEEDS last week here on BPB, they already got a really nice EP teaser on Soundcloud. Computer Jam EP is going to be released on Raving Loony Records, while already got support from Maelstrom, Donovans and Rob de Large just to name a few. All 4 tracks are NEEDS' originals, covering their spectrum from pumping new techno to party electro. My favorite is "Covet", which one is yours?
Computer Jam EP Teaser by NEEDS

Niels Docter aka Doctr from Amsterdam also got a new EP coming out yesteday on Brooklyn Fire. Actually it is more of a new single, since the b-side of Zombies EP is a free download for all! The track "Zombies" itself is a nice compliment to every electro, techno and even dutch house set. Check it out, listen, buy, share!
Doctr - Zombies by doctrmusic

Last but not least, I've got a teaser from Crumps. He already featured on the last post, remixing Rob de Large's Anger, but he also got his own EP coming out really soon with 2 original tracks. I think "Salt" is more of a banger, it closer to the electro, while "Sugar" is a massive techno monster. This EP is going to be great, watch out for it!

Rob de Large - Anger EP

When there's a lot of talk about a certain EP, which is not even released yet, then you know, that it is going to be some huge stuff. Well, that's the case of Rob de Large's Anger EP, which is coming up on Oh My God It's Techno Music this March. But why should we wait till its release, when we've got samples from the whole package itself? Let's see this one!

The original mix is a perfect example of what we call new techno. Well-produced beats and percussion, nice bassline, and a massive and cold industrial feel. True to its name indeed!
Rob de Large - Anger (Original) Preview OMGITM March 2012 by Rob de Large

California-based Casino Gold deliver a chunky remix, taking the whole atmosphere to a less enigmatic, yet still not heartwarming level, I'm sure that this will catch the attention of many DJs!
Rob De Large - Anger (Casino Gold Remix) by CASINO GOLD

Well, for the other official remixes, I have to post this Soundcloud clip from Rob de Large, actually it is more than 15 minutes long, so you'll surely get the idea of this fantastic EP. There's something for every electronic music fan: the banging electro rework of Doc Trashz, the driving techno of the Crumps, the mystic remix of roeVy, the back to the basics electro of Felix Luker, and the acidic version of GMorozov!
ROB DE LARGE - ANGER EP + Remixes Preview (Oh My God It's Techno Music) by Rob de Large

The tracks are already supported by the cream of the class:  Paul Chambers, Mustard Pimp, Trumpdisco, Blatta & Inesha, The Oddword, NT89, Modek, Henzel & Disco Nova, Wazabi, BEENS, Sawgood, ll Saint M & many more!

Tuesday update: Zedd, Lazy Rich, Dskotek, Wax Motif & Neoteric, Don Palm

As WMC slowly approaching, tons of new previews pop up day-by-day on Soundcloud, so let's see which electro tunes you should watch out for, in the next few weeks/days!

Witch Doktor, a classic slab of darkside house music, gets a reworking courtesy of Zedd. This remix swaps out the tribal congas of the original for a stomping electro-house groove, complete with a brand-new melody that’ll have your fillings buzzing. Between the sirens and the ominous chant, however, there’s no doubting the source. Release date set for 6th March on Strictly Rhythm.
Armand Van Helden - Witch Doktor (Zedd Remix) by Strictly Rhythm

Lazy Rich recently got a new remix released on Dim Mak, for Zedd's "Stars Come Out", but he just can't stop producing massive tunes. This time, Porter Robinson's "Vandalism" take a treatment from Rich. He uses Amba Shepherd's beautiful vocals great, then the brutal drop with a chunky bassline gonna get you moving. Top stuff!
Porter Robinson feat Amba Shepherd - Vandalism (Lazy Rich Remix) by Lazy Rich

I always love it, when my favorite producers teaming up for a remix duty. This is the case when Tommie Sunshine & Disco Fries' newest track got remixed by BPB favorite duo DSKOTEK. The LA guys delivered a fantastic, dreamy, yet wobbly remix for this massive vocal track. Out on 5th March on Vicious Records, a definite can't miss track!
Tommie Sunshine & Disco Fries - Don't Look Back (DSKOTEK Remix) (Out March 5th) by DSKOTEK

Wax Motif & Neoteric also teaming up for this very interesting collab, called "Das Machines". It's hard to find a genre for this monster, I see some huge support on this in the upcoming weeks, so it's not a big coincidence that A-Trak played it on his latest Fool's Gold Radio Show. Check it out!
A-trak premiers Wax Motif & Neoteric - Das Machines on Fools Gold Radio by Neoteric

BONUS: I don't want to leave you tonight without a dope house mix, so as a bonus you get Copenhagen-based Don Palm's February Mixtape with some of the hottest house tunes from the last month. Enjoy!

Laidback Luke, Arno Cost & Norman Doray - Trilogy remixes

Week after week, I feel that it's nearly impossible to keep the pace with Laidback Luke's Mixmash Records. Last Thursday, the Ones to Watch Out volume 2 EP got previewed here, and now I just can't resist to make another post, this about the remixes of their newest release. A few weeks earlier I posted the preview of label head honcho LL teaming up with Arno Cost & Norman Doray for a huge peak-time house track called "Trilogy". Well, it got released last Monday and now we already have to deal with its remixes! Let's see!

First in the package is the Russian trio Swanky Tunes who are turning heads, since they delivered their amazing track "Across The Light" and "Together" to Mixmash and now traveling the world with their big room sounds! Like always they managed to turn the original track into something big!
Laidback Luke, Arno Cost and Norman Doray - Trilogy (Swanky Tunes Remix) by MixmashRecords

Hailing from Sweden is this up and coming dj/producer Sebjak who already has some big releases on Joia Records and Horehaus earlier this year under his belt. Seb took this track a bit to the tech-house side of things with some nice rolling beats.
Laidback Luke, Arno Cost and Norman Doray - Trilogy (Sebjak Remix) by MixmashRecords

Next up are GTA from Miami, the duo of Van Toth and JWLS, who are surprising everyone each and every time with their refreshing sound. This is their big room rework!
Laidback Luke, Arno Cost and Norman Doray - Trilogy (GTA Big Room Mix) by MixmashRecords

Last but not least are Dutchies Sam O'Neall & C6. Both already delivered some amazing remixes for Mixmash's "Across The Light" and "Turbulence" and now turning "Trilogy" into a dancefloor bomb!

Release date is set for 8th March!

The BPB Selection #7

It's Monday again...so, with the weekly BPB Selection, I'll try to choose 5 tracks each week which - in my opinion - absolutely can't miss ones. There are no rules for genre, either it's a party banger or a listening pleasure, either it's brand new or a bit older (though I'll try to focus mainly on the newbies). Let's see what I've got for this week.

#5 The Penelopes - Now Now Now (Miguel Campbell remix)
Miguel Campbell is a name to watch out for in 2012. After the massive success of release last year on Hot Creations, and starting the MAM project, he's got a remix released for Paris-based band The Penelopes. Though "Now Now Now" got a remix from The C90s aswell, I have go with this sublime summer track, which is a perfect starter for any house or disco set.
The Penelopes-Now Now Now (Miguel Campbell remix) by thepenelopes

#4 Foamo & RackNRuin present Gorgon City - The Truth
Foamo and RackNRuin teamed up for a new project, called "Gorgon City", which is just a perfect match for these two. The dark, enigmatic beats of RackNRuin compliments the massive basslines and percussions of Foamo - I've got very big expectations from this side-project, their new EP is about to get released very soon on Black Butter, but this one is already a free download.

Gorgon City - The Truth < FREE DOWNLOAD > by Foamo

#3 Handbraekes - Milc
Handbraekes is also a new project by two big-time producers and DJs, as Boys Noize and Mr. Oizo created a great EP for Boysnoize Records, approximately a month ago. All 4 tracks are really great, but this one just stands out for me. Perfect fit for nearly every DJ set!

04 - Handbraekes - Milc by Boysnoize Records

#2 Hard Rock Sofa - Quasar
People usually recognize Axwell's label Axtone as an imprint for melodic house tunes. Well, this one is a surprise then, since the Russian guys from Hard Rock Sofa dropped a gigantic peak-time track with an enormous basslines. Already featured twice on BPB's "Your Guide to the Weekend" mixtapes, so you better check it out!

Hard Rock Sofa - Quasar / Axtone Records - Preview by Hard Rock Sofa

#1 Madeon - Icarus
I think you knew this coming...what else could be this week's #1 on BPB Selection, than the debut single of the 17-year old prodigy from Nantes. Madeon got this one released on his new, own label. Also this track got really heavy support from nearly every big name house DJ, and I'm really glad that the long wait since September, finally ended!

Yes, Budapest Bonkers is on fire, yet another new segment, I really hope you won't get bored of them! Actually this one will substitute the former "Free track roundup" segment, because I usually post the freebies on the BPB Facebook wall but some of them really deserves to get posted here. Das Glow - Concrete remixes

As many of you know, there's a remix competition going on for one of Das Glow's newest track "Concrete", which also happen to be the title of his newest EP, came out on Marble not so long ago. As the original track is being a big favorite for me, I was really happy to see that many up and coming producers started to work with it, and in a really short period of time some really massive remixes popped up. When Bobble's remix published on BPB earlier, I've decided to make a whole post with some of my favorite ones - but it just ended up being really hard to choose. So I choose 6 remixes, yes. Let's see!

First, here's the remix of Paris-based duo NEEDS, they put so much energy in this track, I think the guys really deserve bigger recognition, top stuff!
Das Glow - Concrete (Needs Remix) by NEEDS

My second selection is a bit biased, since I'm aware of Frenchman Valy Mo's work recently, and the guys is just on fire...he keeps producing so cool remixes, I just couldn't resist to post them all. And this one is a free download aswell.
Das Glow - Concrete (ValyMo ₯₰₪‴ remix) by ValyMo

As my third selection, I've chosen another French remix, this one from Marquise. Since I'm always in love with chunky sounds, this one is a sure thing for me. The 21-year old lad from Lille also got a bright future ahead of him!
Das Glow - Concrete (Marquise Remix) by Marquise (La Couleur)

We've got a big name remixing Concrete aswell, or let's say this one is a live edit, but it's pretty dope. Yes, it's coming from man of the moment SCNTST. He's nearly everywhere right now with so many quality productions and remixes and this one is no exception either!
Das Glow - Concrete (SCNTST "Ryntan Live" Remix) by SCNTST

As BPB's notable mentions, I chose two remixes from the Netherlands. Just Regular Guys from Rotterdam and Heksenketel from Haarlem made pretty nice remixes too, so I think really worth mention. Check them out!

BPB Party Planner: DeathDisco Gangbang Ed Banger Special @ Anker (02-25)

Two weeks ago, I told you about the great DeathDisco GangBang nights at Anker and the day after, it was so great I decided to make another post about it. It was merely a coincidence - but a great one - that resident DJs Dictator & Hussar decided that it's going to be an Ed Banger special night! I really hope that I don't have to introduce the label to Budapest Bonkers readers since it's (one of) the most influential labels out there with so many inspiring artists such as Justice, Cassius, Kavinsky, Mickey Moonlight, Krazy Baldhead Busy P and the sadly passed away DJ Medhi.

How can I showcase a warmup for this party? I was thinking about making an Ed Banger Only mix, but there was too little time for such a feat, so I decided to insert a fe mixes from the French masters which will help you to get into the mood, but I really hope you know, where you'll be going tomorrow night! Party infos included aswell!

Your Guide to the Weekend Episode 02

Yes, it's time for the new segment I've introduced last weekend. From now on, BPB readers get a ca. 40 minute mix every Thursday evening, which will - hopefully - help to set your mood for the weekend. It'll be filled with massive, banging electro and house beats and let's say it'll feature a bit more popular tunes than the usual weekly Budapest Bonkers radio show.

Mixed by my humble self, Dante GBRL - this week's set feature some exclusive bootlegs by Jerry Rekonius and Elite Force, and some brand new tracks from SonicC vs. Adam F, Mightyfools and Pierce Fulton among many others. Well, enough with the talk, let's celebrate the weekend, enjoy the mix (it's also a free download FYI)!

Listening pleasure: Amber Smith, Crystal Castles

Well, some of the BPB readers might wanna send me to hell, but yes, this post is going to be a bit different than the others. It's not all about the house, electro and dubstep music, there are many other genres, and as you can see there's the word "indie" in the second row of the BPB logo. Enough with the explanation though, I'm starting a new segment called "listening pleasure", where I'll occasionally recommend you some really nice non-electronic music (well, you can argue with that, but never mind). Please forgive me, that I'm not an expert of every genre, and just concentrate on music!

So I'm proud to introduce one of my favorite Hungarian indie-rock bands, Amber Smith. The guys had a few changes since their last album back in 2008, and the current members played in other bands aswell. But they overcome difficulties to close out their new, self-titled album, which is up on Bandcamp since Tuesday. My favorites from the new album are "Square 1" which was released previously on the same titled EP, and "Ise" which got its title after a Japanese city, plus features the vocals of Enikő Hódosi - the singer of Hungarian band NEO (actually it's the first time, when an Amber Smith song features female vocals). As lot of Hungarians read this blog, I have to say that if you know Amber Smith, then go and buy this album, and to everyone else: at least check them out, the new release really worth it. Here are the songs:

We're not finished yet, I've got some free tunes for you - as usual. It's been nearly 2 years since the last Crystal Castles album, so the fans are eagerly await some new stuff from the duo. And here's the point, where you're going to argue about the electronic and non-electronic music, but you can't miss out on the new HEALTH remix, made for Crystal Castles' "Suffocation". It's mellow yet still mindblowing, and of course free, so don't waste your time!

Preview: The Ones to Watch EP (part 2) by Mixmash Records

So let's just see what Laidback Luke's label got for us next week!

"The Ones To Watch" EP is all about the brand new trend-setting, extremely hot and talented names to watch out for! This volume is a hardcore doze of the smashing progressive sounds of bright electro entries!
Expect nothing but the "Slap" of the heavy-weight electro base from the French mixing virtuoso Sebastien Benett. The EP continues with the Laidback Luke inspired progressive track rich on the impressive baseline and vocoder namely "Meteorite" cooked in the headquarters of the Tunisian next big name Striker. Following up is a very ecstatic big-room "Euphoria" tune from the noted Dutch duo Justin Strikes & Jay Rox who just invented the next must-have anthem. And, just to put an extra cherry on top, we got another upcoming Dutch duo Mirwais & David Gravell with "Smashed Potatoes". They combine the sound of progressive house with a superb electro chainsaw line seasoning it up with a massive almost demolishing buildup!

So, there's no way to miss the release day of this loud "The Ones To Watch" EP on the 1st of March via Beatport.

And of course, Budapest Bonkers got all 4 previews here!

Wednesday update: Micky Slim, Timo Juuti & Hector 87, Turbo Turbo

So, it's time for the big daily update, what's the status of releases and previews....here's a really nice bunch of them.

Let's start out with a current release from Funkagenda's label Funk Farm. I think Micky Slim's name sounds really familiar to electro fans, he done some magical stuff at Toolroom for example, back in 2006-2007. His newest track "Brass Rail" is a nice chunky, wobbly track perfectly compliments every harder house or electro set. Millions Like Us made a massive dubstep remix as a follow-up to his remix for label boss Funkagenda, while the package becomes a whole with the b-side "Niagra Falls". Check out all three!

Italian independent label La Valigetta is really happy to announce its newest release, coming on 5th March from Finnish disco/electro duo Timo Juuti & Hector 87. The guys made some really sexy stuff over the last few months (for example their Dada Life and M83 bootlegs) but this is just mint. 3 original tracks "Disco Wobblez", "Woo Chicks" and creme de la creme "Cheap Bad Moves" - which is already licenced to a Hed Kandi compilation. The package contains 3 awesome remixes aswell, coming from J. Paul Getto, Ghosts of Venice and Neptuun City resident PHNTM. Big essential EP for every electro and disco lover!

Closing out this package, I've got something for the new techno fans too! Great german collective GND Records gained huge success over the last few months with releases from The Sneekers or Hoshina Anniversary. Their newest release coming Bremen-based German duo Turbo Turbo and includes 2 originals "Swab" and "Charge". Both tracks are as chunky as it is possible, instant favorites for me, hope they'll be for you aswell, check yourself!

Big collabs at Size Records and Axtone

Looks like the labels in connection with the Swedish House Mafia are preparing some big things before WMC2012. It's not that the vocal version of Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso's big hit or the new SHM track "Greyhound" is any bad, but I'm gonna focus on the two big collaborations that gonna surface the limelight really soon. Check these out!

First up is a 100% British collaboration between progressive house big gun Third Party and electronica band Cicada. In this short sample by Steve Angello's Size Records, you'll hear everything that you would want from a collab like this: nice vocals, huge breakdown and a totally big-room/arena fit drop, that'll tear up dancefloors not just in Miami, but at every festival during the summer.
Release date is set for 12th March.
Third Party vs Cicada 'Feel' - Official Clip... by sizerecords

Another great collaboration coming up on Axwell's Axtone label aswell. While Russia is getting a superpower in electronic dance music with the likes of Swanky Tunes and Hard Rock Sofa, here's another group of talented young producers coming up. Yep, I'm talking about Arty teaming up with Matisse & Sadko. Though trance fans must acknowledge Arty for a longer time, he's gaining more and more succes among the house audience (especially his new years gig and essential mix was a great boost). Matisse & Sadko (who are brothers btw) also had releases on labels like Zouk, so success is not a new thing to them either. Anyway, I shut up, so you can listen to the Radio 1 rip of their new track called "Trio".
Release date: 5th March

Tuesday update: Maelstrom, NT89, Felix Cartal, TJR

I have to admit that this week is going really fast, it's already Tuesday evening with so many great tracks and previews waiting to get posted here. So I'm gonna wrap things up, let's see some of them!

Maelstrom made a great remix of Noob's "Spell" back in October at the Sound Pellegrino label, and now he got his own EP released aswell. USSR EP is a real biggie with 8 tracks, 3 originals, 5 remixes coming from DJ Dodger Stadium, Boston Bun, Aero Manyelo, The Hacker and Coni. I think everyone will find something interesting in this package, as it is already supported by names like  Boys Noize, Switch, Sinden, Crookers, Joakim, Laurent Garnier, Bok Bok, Round Table Knights, Zombie Disco Squad, Christian Martin, Style Of Eye, Douster and many more. Oh, and it is released yesterday, so you can pick it up on all music stores!
MAELSTROM — 'USSR' EP preview by soundpellegrino

Nima Tahmasebi aka NT89 from Amsterdam also got a new EP coming on Fool's Gold Records with 3 brand new, original tracks. Of course, all of them fits into the "new techno" sound, which is getting really popular nowadays and also as we can expect from Nima, one of the biggest future talents in the game. Check out Voices EP!
NT89 - Voices EP [FOOL'S GOLD] by NT89

And now, some big room beats from Dim Mak Records. Felix Cartal's new single "Domo" is a very fresh tune right now, but we already got two banging remixes from Etienne de Crecy and Pierce Fulton. While Etienne's remix is blasting the speakers with its techno and old school electro feel, going in a really chunky direction, Pierce's remix is just fitting every big room and arena, perfect festival track. I recommend both!
Felix Cartal - Domo Remixes by DimMakRecords

And, as a bonus, please enjoy TJR's newest track "Funky Vodka"! It really reminds me the big classic "I Was Drunk" from Riva Starr and Noze, with feelgood bit-drunkish house vibe, totally makes you wanna dance and drink. Taste the sample, it's already released yesterday on Chris Lake's label, Rising Music!
