BPB Party Planner: Thrasher NYE /w The Boomzers, Noize Generation @ Events Hell (12-31, Saturday)

Happy fucking new year! The most well-known trash/electro party series hold its annual NYE party with some pretty kick-ass guests. Both The Boomzers and Noize Generation played earlier this year on Thrasher events, so it's quite a good sign that they chose BP as their NYE location.

They also got some of the premium Hungarian electro and dubstep DJs tonight with Andro, Robotrock, Gyurex and Adam Ajkay. Also to get warmed up for this event BPB got a nice little warmup minimix for you, don't miss this one either.

BPB Party Planner: ÚJrÉV 2012 Festival @ Dürlin (12/30 + 31, Friday & Saturday)

We've got only 2 days left in 2011, so I think it's time to decide where will you spend the NYE. If you're in Budapest I'll help you with that. Let's start party planning!

As my first recommendation, I have to start out with this major 2 day festival, which will not only close out 2011, but also the grand opening of a new party place in Budapest, called Dürlin. During the 2 days every tech, minimal and goa fan will find a way to make this weekend unforgettable - thanks to the organizers: Avatar + NoVidraCrew + PortfolioPoints + Aktrecords.

Before we take a look at the party info, I've selected 2 great warmup mixes, which will help to set your mood for the party. Both of them will play Friday night in the main room, also well known for their trademark sound and leading role in today's tech-house and minimal scene. Yes, I'm talking about Stephan Bodzin and Super Flu, enjoy!

Preview time #3

First, I was thinking about making a huge Mixmash post with the yearmix and the new releases, but then I discovered some great new stuff from GND Records and So Much Dada. Whatever, let's make a giant preview post aswell. Just for you.

Now Mixmash goes "Sex, Drugs, Rock n Roll" with Tommy Trash's next big track to start off 2012! This tune is all the way distorted and synthed in the best of Tommy's characteristic electro style. With his unique sound pick and busy build-ups with some old school "sex, drugs, rock n roll" vocal samples, Tommy cooked another chart threat for coming January!
Alongside the original mix, the release pack will include an instrumental mix of "Sex, Drugs, Rock n Roll". Watch out when they both land on the 9th of January!
Tommy Trash - Sex, Drugs, Rock n Roll (Original Mix) by MixmashRecords

Sticking with Mixmash, they've got another EP on the Back2Back series, number 4 exactly. The EP starts with a dreamy piano banger namely "Freeze" from Austin Leeds. Its pure big-room feeling goes all the way through you and makes it sound so anthemic! No wonder you want to "freeze" the moment when this track lands on the dancefloor!
But it won't be a the full pack, if we didn't have the electro driven tune "Klav" now spinned by Dyro. The typical Dutch heavy pitched synths and the ultimate build-us of this track will wow every EDM lover.
Back2Back Series Vol. 4 // Austin Leeds - Freeze (Original Mix) by MixmashRecords
Back2Back Series Vol. 4 // Dyro - Klav (Original Mix) by MixmashRecords

There was a remix competition going on in November, organized by Dada Life to remix their mega hit "Happy Violence". Well the results are in, and the winner gets a release on the guys' label So Much Dada. The winner is none other than Special Features who made an excellent dreamy-yet-still-banging electro tune, perfectly fit the Dada sound. It's out today on Beatport, you can check the sample here.
Dada Life - Happy Violence (Special Features Remix Preview) CONTEST WINNER by Dada Life

German GND Records also come up with a surprise before the end of the year. After the amazing success of Modern Pleasure EP, when they got major support from big names such as Alex Gopher, Etienne de Crecy, Mumbai Science, Kissy Sell Out, Boris Dlugosch, The Loops of Fury - The Sneekers just finished their second release. Splash EP is a blast with all three tracks are designed for peak time sets. Check out the previews, release date will be 3rd February.

Random Free Goodies

Tonight's gonna be filled with Mixmash Records, huge stir is going on there, so I just start right now with this one.

Label chief Laidback Luke put together this yearmix, including all the Mixmash releases from 2011. 37 minutes, 37 tracks - I can see your jaws dropping, this is a must have!
Mixmash Records 2011 All-Releases YearMix (Mixed By Laidback Luke) by MixmashRecords

Continuing with another mixtape, Swedish Lunde Bros. sent me their newest mixtape, aired monthly on several radio throughout Europe. This one contains tracks from R3hab, Nicky Romero, Hardwell, Avicii, Swanky Tunes, Sadko & Matisse and many more.
This Is Lunde Bros #017 by Lunde Bros.

It's been a while since the last free track update, so I couldn't resist to post these: Figure's last free track for 2011, called "The Ball Drop". This is a drumstep treatment of Auld Land Syne, an old classic normally sang to bring in the next year. The basslines and synths all follow the same chord structure with some drops to bring the classic up to speed with 2012.

I've posted earlier in November Hostage's mix for Urban Nerds which premiered his newest collab with RackNRuin. Well this beauty is a free download right now - all you have to do is follow Black Butter Records on Soundcloud OR like Hostage's or RackNRuin's Facebook page.

The Post X-mas / Pre NYE Hangover

Hopefully, you all know what I'm talking about - yes, those lazy days when Xmas is just a distant memory, though we still got plenty of time till the NYE raves. Somehow we gotta get through these times, and these mixes will help you a lot in preparing for your mega NYE party. Electro, dubstep and bass music from both international superstars and upcoming Hungarian talents.

I think I don't have to introduce Zedd to Budapest Bonkers readers - the guy had an amazing year, new releases on Mau5trap, Dim Mak, touring with Deadmau5, Skrillex and Datsik. He's clearly become one of the superstars of the electro scene. As we can't wait to hear him playing in Hungary, here's a 90-minute sample of what to expect from him during a liveset.
Zedd DJ Mix (The Mothership Vol.2) by Zedd

The LA-based DSKOTEK guys featured here several times during the last 2 months, for example with their astonishing bootleg for Afrojack's "Lionheart". Well, at the end of the year, they made a 1-hour set including their favorites from 2011 plus many more DSKOTEK remixes and bootlegs. Also there's a little competition going on: whom ever can LIST ALL THE TRACKS in the mix in order will get some free gifts. Good luck!
DSKOTEK's HOLIDAY GROOVE 2011 ESSENTIAL MIX (List the Tracks, FREE Giveaways) by DSKOTEK

Urban Nerds London also getting ready for the New Year's Eve party, therefore they posted this exclusive set mixed by Zinc. It's been a while since he's hit the world with one of his acclaimed mixes, so here we go with 30 minutes of goodness, featuring drops from the forthcoming Sprung EP alongside some big room, bass driven dancefloor fillers!
Zinc exclusive mix for Urban Nerds x BassLaced NYE 2011 by urbannerdslondon

And now back to Hungarian soil! I've compiled 3 mixes for you from some upcoming talents in the Hungarian electro scene. For those who frequently visit Thrasher Party and FeelGood Inc. nights, B'Andre's sets are essentials. He posted his Winter mix yesterday, that'll give you a clue what will you hear from him during the next weeks.
B'Andre - Winter Collection by B'Andre

Talking about talents, I've recently listened Corvinbass' wintermix, and wondered how did I never heard about him/them? Corvinbass is a relatively new name to the scene (or me - beg my pardon), so I was quite surprised about this banging though really eclectic 30 minute set. Please check it out and show some on FACEBOOK aswell!
Wintermix (without genre,download,tracklist) by Corvinbass

Last but not least, I would like to introduce DeepCoast, who is making his debut on Budapest Bonkers. He's one of the authors of HaviMix Blog, one of the most well-known electro blogs in Hungary and also playing at several parties in Southern Hungary. All I can say that this set is a killer, 30 tracks in 60 minutes with loads of mashups, bootlegs and re-edits. Check it out!

Can you stay up for the Xmas

First of all, I would like to wish Merry Christmas to all Budapest Bonkers readers! Here's a special edition of the usual weekend warmup post, more special content this time. Enjoy!

I think we all love Krafty Kuts' special mashups and rerubs, and as a Xmas gift, he released a new one yesterday. He mashed up Rolling in the Deep with Al Bizarre's Fire Breazze and the result is simply fantastic. Check for yourself - it's a free download!

I've got another special mashup, this one comes from Vandalism. Putting together Afrojack's "Lionheart" and Foster The People's "Pumped Up Kicks" sound wicked. Well it is.

Since it's gonna be a long weekend of eating, drinking, visiting relatives, chilling out - I decided to share some massive sets with you aswell. First up here's a huge mix from Justep Hungary's Post-Mortem. The Justep guys created a great Facebook Channel nearly a year ago and additionally posting exclusive mixes from time to time. This one includes exclusive tracks from Hungarian producers like Firedog, Distopia, Beatman & Ludmilla and many more.

Staying with Hungarian DJs, Future Music resident Wondawulf uploaded his newest promo mix yesterday. 51 minutes, 28 tracks - dubstep, drumstep and drum&bass all the way. Listen, share, download!

After a few days' time, the blog is back on track - and as you might realized, it's all about Christmas everywhere. The electronic dance music scene is no exception, everyone's pumping out free tracks, bootlegs, best of the year mixes and other stuff. I compiled some of my favorites for you, check these out!

Dada Life is one of the biggest stories of the year, massive productions, loads of gigs on the biggest festival, a new label and fun all the way. The guys poured all these moments into a 60-minute set to let you know, what were their favorites this year.

And now, here are some free tracks. I recommended earlier Jay Robinson's latest EP on the blog. He had a nice remix for Krafty Kuts aswell, becoming a resident on Krafty's Instant Vibes imprint. After a long and busy year, Jay doesn't stop. Here's Coldplay's mega hit "Paradise" in a Jay Robinson interpretation.

A couple of live sets

Well, you all know that this time of the year could be quite hard. Either it's about the last days of school, doing your finals, or preparing for the holiday festivities. Therefore the BPB blog take a rest for the next 2 days, while I'm taking part in one of my finals - and before I can prepare for the kickoff the BPB holiday season with lots of new stuff. I don't want to leave you though without great music, so I made a compilation of DJ sets, recorded live during the last month with some of the biggest names in the business. Either if you love house, electro or slower techhouse/minimal beats, this post will be essential for you!

First up, on the house front, I've got 2 red hot names doing some massive sets. Dirty Dutch label boss Chuckie played a banging 1-hour set at the Vicious Music Awards ceremony in Madrid on Thursday. After the recent SHM set I posted yesterday, this time here's another longer live from 1/3 of the Swedish House Mafia and Refune head honcho, Sebastian Ingrosso, recorded live in Washington DC at Glow.

Also some tasty electro sets here. Dada Life recently started their own label, So Much Dada, while this year they clearly ensured their superstars status among the electro DJs. I also got lives from festivals, one from Calvin Harris played a 1-hour set last month at the Belgian Groove City Festival, while the other is Laidback Luke and his usual awesomeness from the Brazilian edition of Ultra Music Festival, don't miss these either!

One more goodie for you. From the beginning of 2012, I also want to concentrate on the techhouse/minimal scene aswell on Budapest Bonkers (which was an original goal at the start of the blog, but somehow couldn't spare enough time earlier). Therefore here's an exceptional live set from one of the biggest names around, Seth Troxler who's recently voted as #2 DJ in the world (no, not by Mixmag, by Resident Advisor)
Hope You'll enjoy it!

Enjoy these sets, take care and see you in a few days' time!

Can you stay up for the weekend? #9

It's time for the weekend again - actually the last one for this year without any festivities. This also means that it's time again for the "Can You stay up for the weekend" mixcompilation of Budapest Bonkers, including radio shows and livesets - this time it's gonna be really big, so let's do this!

First up, it's a huge liveset by the Swedish House Mafia, recorded yesterday (!!!) at Madison Square Garden, New York. The tracklist is full of exclusive goodies, mashups, bootlegs - including the new Axtone release by Arty, Sadko & Matisse, and Tommy Trash's massive remix of John Dahlbäck's newest track "One Last Ride". Enjoy this one!
SHM - Madison Square Garden - 16.12.2011 by madisonsquaregarden

I've got another exclusive liveset for those who like the laidback beats. This one is a nearly 3-hour (!!!) set by Sebastien Léger, recorded live at Watergate, Berlin. Unfortunately there's no tracklisting, but I bet he played lots of his tracks and some upcoming releases of his great label, Mistakes Music. The set is downloadable aswell, so what you're waiting for?
Sébastien Léger at Watergate - Berlin - 02/12/2011 by sebastienleger

And now on to the radio show. Pete Tong's Essential Selection is becoming a regular feature here with so many new tracks to listen. This time Pete did it again, playing the new Tommy Trash remix of the SHM vs. Knife Party single "Antidote", new Alex Metric remix of Miike Snow, 15 minutes of Fame with Madeon, new Nicky Romero tracks, plus for some bragging rights, one of his essential contenders was the Style of Eye remix of Tony Senghore's "Go Tigers". I recommended that for you weeks ago, remember?

Kissy Sell Out's Kissy Klub is also one of BPB's favorite radio shows, and as the end of the year reach us soon, Kissy did a special show aswell, including his favorites bits from 2011. Guest Mixes from the mighty Mike Skinner off of The Streets, Holland's Laidback Luke, Montreal's Botnek and sticking with Canada, Toronto's finest Zeds Dead.
Plus Raff Daddy aka one half of 2 Bears, Ed Sheeran and Dillon Francis all chat to Kissy on the phone.

I also won't leave you without some thomping beats from Dim Mak chief Steve Aoki, with the 27th episode of Aoki's House.
Aoki's House on Electric Area - Episode 27 by steveaoki

Have a nice weekend!

12/16/2011

Watch out for these!

It's been a while since I posted previews so it's time again to take a look at what we gonna listen in a few weeks'.

Laidback Luke's label Mixmash Records keep getting bigger and bigger, and here's another awesome release, this time by upcoming Serbian talent Mata called "Dutchness". With his shiny remix of Laidback Luke's and Sander van Doorn's "Who's Wearing The Cap" in the pocket, he now offers you a smashing electro follow-up.
The first remix of this track is delivered by Moska, who met Mata on the Laidback Luke Forum. His work is rich with a big-room sound, crazy Dutch leads and some nice horn melodies.
The second remix comes from Chile where young and talented Jordan Ferrer created the whole different version of "Dutchness", spicing it with his unique chords and big pitched synths in the break. The release is due to the 19th of December.

Going through favorite labels we must stop at Wearhouse Music. 18th December marks the release date of Decibel's newest single called "Teeth", a perky bass track along with a heavyweight remix from label head honcho Lee Mortimer and a funky one from Coin Operated Boy. Enjoy!
WEAR047 Decibel - Teeth by Lee Mortimer

Also Steve Angello's Size Records won't rest at the end of the year. This time it's Tim Mason's 'Anima' that will be controlling dance floor's across the globe. Keeping in true Tim Mason fashion it features a huge riff, introduced as lo-fi in the breakdown and building into a huge release of synth madness. Rising snare rolls and FX take the track to new levels before taking you back into the emotional chords that Tim Mason executes so well. Release date: 30th December.
Tim Mason 'Anima' (Clip) by sizerecords

Of course I won't leave you without some dubstep. Culprate's new 5 Star EP is on its way aswell, it will hit the stores on Christmas Day. These 4 tracks cover various moods of dubstep from dancefloor destroying till chilling. You gonna love this, I bet!

BPB Party Planner: Thrasher Party /w Knife Party @ Studio (12-16, Friday)

Yes, tonight FeelGood Inc. and Thrasher Party team up to bring one of this year's most hyped electro-dubstep acts to Budapest. Rektchordz's tracks are essential for breakbeat and techfunk fans by having releases on LOT49, Simma and U&A. Well, I'm getting so much awesome stuff, while I have so little time right now - but here's another monster package of free tracks, hope you'll enjoy!

You might have heard about the excellent Australian indie band Strange Talk, I've became a fan last year when I heard their debut EP, and now here's a new track with some huge remixes from the biggest names on the scene. "Sexual Lifestyle" got really sexy treatments from Bart B. More and Reset! and the guys made share them free on Soundcloud. Both tracks are instant favorites!

I bet many of you like Florence & The Machine aswell, so electro fans will love this rework by Simma Records artist Marc Remillard, who made a great respray of "Spectrum".

This week I went to a more housy direction, lots of new tracks in there and also some older ones such as Steve Angello's massive hit "Knas" - which I heard in a moombahton remix earlier this week, so I had to take out the original. If you don't like streaming, you can DOWNLOAD THE SHOW HERE and HERE

Can you stay up for the weekend? #8

And here's your weekly dose of weekend warmup, including radio shows, promo mixes and an exclusive live set. Let's do this!

First up, here's Pete Tong and his Essential Selection on BBC Radio 1. New tunes from Alesso, Kele & Sander van Doorn, Knife Party, a new Style of Eye remix (out soon on Sander Kleinenberg's This Is imprint) and many more exclusive promos.

Staying at BBC Radio 1, I recommend you two more massive shows. Skream & Benga teamed up again for their monthly residency at the In New DJs We Trust show, while Jaguar Skills took over again for Kissy Sell Out's Kissy Klub with some huge guestmixes including Adam F, DJ@War, Artful Dodger, Deacon Rose, Santiago & Bushido and Carl Cox. I wouldn't miss these either!

And now, on to some laidback disco vibes, from one of the biggest masters on the scene, The Magician. His recent remix for Yuksek's "Always on the Run" was a masterpiece, and I bet he's got more in this 1 hour set he did for Brussels Switch Radio. Enjoy!

I rarely post livesets, but when I do they're awesome. No exception here. Eric Prydz shared this 90 minute set with his fans on Soundcloud, it was recorded in Alexandra Palace on 26th November 2011. The tracklist includes many Eric Prydz, Pryda and Cirez D tracks and remixes, even new ones. Take a listen.

I can't miss the radio set of Andro, one of Hungary's finest when it comes to banging electro. Dope 60 minutes again, including an exclusive track from his producer mate Pixa, called "Everyday Bitch". Perfect before a huge Saturday night party!

It still not over. TAI's new mix is also a delight, lots of unreleased gems in this 1-hour set, including his newest track "Omnicrack" plus a collab with Bart B. More, and TAI's unreleased remix of More's fantastic track, "Traction".
