Best of Hungary #2

It's been only 1 week since the last only-Hungarian post here on BPB, but it's time to prove again that we've got some badass electro producers and DJs too.

Planet Noize just released 3 bombs on NOIZE label this Monday. Here are the 2 dubstep tracks from the EP, killing basslines and drops everywhere, I bet these tracks will gain massive support. Check them out!
Planet Noize - Ressistance (original mix) [It is available on Beatport] by PlanetNoize
Planet Noize - Bleed (original mix) [It is available on Beatport] by PlanetNoize

After last week's appearance here, Bastardfool came up with another massive electro-fidgety track, called "Electro Station". It's hard, heavy and it's also free, all you have to do is throw him a like on FACEBOOK
Bastardfool - Electro Station (Original mix) [Free download, link in Description] by Bastardfool

Also here's a collab: after his Depeche Mode remix Nervé teamed up with Exetfail, to create a monster, called "Duckface". I bet it reflects on the little ducky sounds in the breakdown, but the drop is a totally different story so just go, listen and download this freebie!
Nervé & Exetfail - Duckface [Free Download] by Nervé

And it's still not over! Well-known DJ duo & twins Dublic released one of the biggest mashups for this year (I can stay that, it's nearly December now). In 6 minutes, they mashed up Skrillex, Daft Punk, Flux Pavilion, Felguk, Dirtyloud, Santero and Menace to Sobriety. In 6 minutes! Can't miss!

I also want to use this post to give shout to all Hungarian DJs and producers, if you have a nice track or mix, that you wanna get featured here, don't hesitate, contact: bpbonkers@gmail.com

Give me some BASS!

Now it's time for some new EPs which will totally fill you bass needs. Trouble & Bass, Party Like Us and T&A Records are all well-known names in the business, let's check out what they've got for us in the next few weeks.

Bird Peterson teamed up with Ocelot for a collab called "Soul Survivor", a monstrous electro track. Run DMT kept the hard edge of track, pouring in some dubstep elements and some great drum programming, while the Anna Love remix is a really deep, evil bass track. Honestly I'm absolutely in love with Trowa's moombahcoreish rethink, while Craze's remix will be a delight for those broken beat fans. Go, listen yourself, the whole EP is just massive, already supported by the likes of Crookers, Congorock, St. Mandrew and many more!
Bird Peterson & Ocelot - Soul Survivor (Out Dec 6 on T&A) by T&ARecords

Willy Joy's newest EP will be out on Trouble&Bass on 13th December, but you don't have to wait that long to listen the full version. My favorite here is "Whispering Woods", it just explodes with its huge drop, while "Superhuman" and "Gimme Dat" are much more laidback tracks, perfect fits in warmup sets.
Willy Joy - Whispering Woods EP by Trouble & Bass

Charlotte based Clicks & Whistles are also ready to release their new EP, called "Can't Believe" on AC Slater's Party Like Us Records. All 3 tracks labeled as "heavy bass" which is really a good way to describe them, taking elements and influences from dubstep, hip-hop and synth-bass. Check it out!
Clicks & Whistles - Can't Believe EP by partylikeusrecords

Laidback Luke & Sander van Doorn - Who's Wearing The Cap remixes

Not long ago, house & techtrance big guns, Laidback Luke Sander van Doorn teamed up for a collab, called "Who's Wearing The Cap" on LL's label Mixmash. Well, the both housy and trancy original caused a huge stir on dancefloor around the world, and now it's time to release some remixes for this monster. Here are the previews.

1/2 of world famous Duck Sauce, A-Trak powered up the original with a massive chunky bassline while keeping the original melody in its place, plus creating a hands in the air breakdown before the bassline comes in again and destroys everything. Must have!
Laidback Luke and Sander van Doorn - Who's Wearing The Cap (A-Trak Remix) by MixmashRecords

Mixmash favorite and upcoming talent, Gianni Marino was also on remix duties. I think he's interpretation is much more tranzier, but just when you think it kept all the trance elements from the original one, the remix becomes a mainroom monster. This would be my pick for those festivals.
Laidback Luke and Sander van Doorn - Who's Wearing The Cap (Gianni Marino Remix) by MixmashRecords

Still not over. We've got an electro remix from Mata aswell. Nice work on synchronizing the bassline and those synthy drops, I think this remix demonstrates the unique Mixmash sound the most. Really hard to pick one though.
Laidback Luke and Sander van Doorn - Who's Wearing The Cap (Mata Remix) by MixmashRecords

+1: Mixmash also released a new one yesterday from Dutch prodigy LOOPERS called "Amnesia". Also a typical chunky club banger, don't miss this one either and buy it on BEATPORT if you like it!

Preview time #2

It's Monday which means it's time for tons of new releases, so now I'm gonna take you on a ride to house music world with some previews from Midnight Munchies, Joia Recordings and Slappa da Bass Records. Let's go!

Belgian label teamed up with Swedish producer Tony Senghore for its newest release, called "Go Tigers". The EP features the smashing original mix with a massive bassline, some dutch elements plus some cheerleaderish vocal effects. The remix duties are taken by Style of Eye and Get Nuts - the previous one is a huge peaktime floorburner taking it to an even heavier level, while Get Nuts' remix is going deeper, using the vocals to make up a nice warmup track. The EP is already supported by some big names on the scene such as BeatauCue, Mason, Urchins, Sound of Stereo and many many more. Release date: 12th December.

Our next favorite is a new ep by Mozza! on Slappa da Bass Records which is already out today. Two original tracks here: both "Move Now" and "Badaboom" could be categorized as electro, nice tracks all in all, the heavier Badaboom is my favorite here, proper stuff. Frederik Mooij remixes Badaboom into a fidgety monster, while ETC!ETC! takes a harder approach on Move Now, I bet both will rip up some floors in the next weeks.
SDB007: Mozza! - Move Now! / Badaboom by slappadabassrecords

Joia Recordings already preparing to release a 14-track compilation called "Bad Things" on 5th December to celebrate their 10th Anniversary. This means quality house music, and some exclusive tracks from the likes of Tim Berg (aka Avicii), Disfunktion, John Dahlbäck, Lunde Bros., Alex Sayz, Filip Jenven and a lot more. Not all of the tunes are accessible right now, but here's a few which will be featured on the compilation so you can get a taste of what you looking forward.

A few more sets for the weekend

I've got more DJ sets for you, before I upload this week's BPB Radio Show. This time I've got something for everyone, 4 sets, 4 styles. Let's do it!

First up is the Eats Everything Essential Mix, which is a live set, recorded at In:Motion in Bristol. Dan Pearce, has emerged as one of the breakthrough producers of 2011, releasing music on labels like Dirtybird and Pets Recordings, and it' just the beginning, I'm sure we'll hear a lot about him in the near future.
Eats Everything Essential Mix-SAT-11-26-2011 by EatsEverything

Since there were really few livesets around here, I've got another one. He's not really an upcoming artist anymore, this year he has become one of the biggest stars in the house scene, with mega hits like Levels or Fade Into Darkness. Yep, it's Avicii. And this is a 3-hour live set from him, recorded last Friday in Washington DC. Enjoy!

And now get ready for some disco action. Aeroplane is now a solo project, since the departure of The Magician. Although this set is a true gem, loads of new tracks and upcoming rarities. Watch out for the opening track by Quakers & Mormons...I recommended it for you nearly a month earlier!

Let's get things a bit techier. One of my favorite producers from the tech scene, Ramon Tapia deliver an excellent November promo mix, including two of his newest tracks on Remote Area label, and many other goodies. If you like chilly pumping, here's your business.

Can you stay up for the weekend? #6

Thank God, it's Friday again - after a rough week - and here's your bass-dose to warm up those parties!

As usual, I lined up some of the BBC Radio 1's finest. First up is Chuckie who is a monthly resident on the In New DJs We Trust show. So it's his turn in November and he delivered some nice house and electro beats, including some new tracks from Felguk, Crookers, Revolvr and more. Click on the link!

Next up is Kissy Sell Out, a weekly feature here. Kissy Klub is one of the best electro-dutch-moombah-dubstep shows all around, and this one's no exception. 120 minutes of banging basslines, and a guestmix from Feed Me. What else do you need?

And to complete the Radio 1 trifecta, I've got a 2-hour show from Annie Nightingale aswell. She plays all kinds of bass music, so I think this one will be a delight for you aswell. And there's a guestmix from Netsky, so it definately worth a listen!

And now to the Soundcloud sets. Andro's weekly radio show is also a frequent feature, so this weekend's no exception. He recently won the Best DJ in Hungary award, so show him some love aswell. The set itself is banging as ever, featuring the Uppermost remix of Dada Life's "Happy Violence", and the Zomboy remix of Nadia Ali's "Pressure", among many others!

One more hour of bassline music. The Plump DJs pumped out an energetic 60 minute mix, including 25 tracks, no time for rest here either.

Swedish duo, F.O.O.L. are quite becoming one of the best known names in trash electro. Their popularity based on not just excellent productions and banging sets, but their free tracks which they splash out regularly. "Dark Side" is no exception, we've got a nice one here is aswell.
F.O.O.L - Dark Side (Original Mix) by FuckOurOrdinaryLives

Coming back to Hungary, here's another upcoming producer, Nervé, with a great new remix of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus". I really like how he used the original elements in the breakdown, and added a huge electro bassline to the drops. Throw him some likes on FACEBOOK too.

And to the a new mix now. Jack Union head honcho Hijack started a new weekly mix series, putting together his current top 10 every week. This means loads of new and exclusive house stuff, I wouldn't miss it - looking forward to the next episodes aswell.

Best of Hungary

It's been a few days since the last post - sorry for that, I'm doing my final exams at the university, so it was a bit hectic. But now back on track, and while I got some massive stuff from Hungarian producer and DJs, it's time to pay tribute to our home scene.

First up is Bastardfool from Pécs, who just finished a 4-track EP, called "Neurotic". It's full of really heavy basslines with excellent beat programming, my favorite here is "I'm Not God", but I would recommend all 4 tracks for you bassheads. The EP is currently looking for a label, so I really hope Bastardfool will find one soon, until then show some love to the guy on FACEBOOK

Kovary is already a well-known name around here, since he's on fire throughout the last few weeks. Pumping out numerous moombahdisco bootlegs, and a new EP aswell. Now here's a double pack from him, a new remix of Hot Chocolate's "You Sexy Thing", plus a mixtape celebrating the release of Moombahstik EP. Enjoy!

And now to Szeged! Thrasher Party resident Stupid Disco shared his latest liveset from last Friday's party on Soundcloud. Actually this set is a true heavyweight, including tracks from Nom de Strip, Modek and much much more! Check it out!

Still far from over. I've got another set for you! Last week I told you about Purple Cracked Puppets member Kiwy's winter promo mix. Well here's the second part, and it's not easy either. 58 minutes, 38 tracks, dubstep all over the place!

One of my favorite producers from Brazil, The Kickstarts made a bootleg mix of Afrojack's recent track "Lionheart" (which is already out on Wall Recordings btw). I really liked the original, which seem to be surprising, but this bootie is way better in my opinion.
Afrojack - Lionheart (The Kickstarts Bootleg Mix) by TheKickstarts

And one more. Having featured on BPB earlier with their ADE Sampler, Futuristic Polar Bears and Danny Howard teamed up again to make a bootleg of the 2005 bomb Tell Me Why by Supermode. It is also free, take it, listen, share etc.

First up is the next release on Borgore's label, which is a French collab of The Unik & Habstrakt. It contains 2 original tracks, and reworks which the guys made for each other. Where I Came From is a nice haunting piece, while Future Swag is a total club bomb, while both remixes are great - I can't really pick, it's a whole package. Looking forward to its release date!

And now on to Britain! 2 new releases from Dub Police, one of my favorite imprints when it comes to dubstep. KGB's Meat EP contains two massive tracks which will totally destroy dancefloor with Meat and Ultra Skank. I Just Wanna Love You is a totally different story, it's more of a listening pleasure.

The other new toy from Dub Police is Subzee D's Jack in a Box EP, I can't really decide here which one to pick, all 3 tracks are gorgeous, but I have go with One More with its chilling breakdown and the drop's totally evil bassline.

Shave The Moombahdisco!

Yeah, really tricky title for a blogpost I know. Here I am gonna deal with some disco, some moombahton and some remixes for Zedd's newest single "Shave It". Let's go!

The new remixes for "Shave It" were released yesterday on the OWSLA imprint (BPB featured the Tommy Trash remix earlier), but here I'll offer 2 free ones! Matt Sayers made a quite nice bootleg for the track, it smashes as hard as the original, but with a kinda different approach.
Zedd - Shave It (Matt Sayers 'No Shave November' Bootleg) **FREE DOWNLOAD** by Matt Sayers

Moombahton great Sazon Booyah's retake is also quite interesting. Not just because it's moombahton, but due to the lower BPM rate it has become quite creepy. Or it's just me. Check for yourself, it's free!
ZEDD - Shave It! (Sazon Booya Remix) by Sazon Booya

And now to the moombahdisco! Kovary sent me his newest remix, taking a real classic, The Rolling Stones' "Miss You" on a moombahdisco ride and it turned out to be great - looks like Kovary's becoming a resident over BPB with new and new remixes nearly every week.
The Rolling Stones - Miss You (Kovary moombahton bootleg)FREE DL!!!! by Kovary

I also promised some disco, so here you are. Fabian from Binary Records shared this free tune yesterday, called "The Jack". Wonderful disco house track, essential for all discoheads out there!
Fabian - The Jack by iamFabian

And we're still not done! I've got a whole free EP plus a remix for you from San Francisco-based producer Viceroy, who had releases earlier on the Shiny Disco Club label. He brings back the summer for a few minutes with some chilly disco tunes, remember those days when you were sipping coctails by the pool and download the EP!

Thursday marks the opening of the second Fridge Festival in Budapest. It hosts a monstrous ski and snowboard event, and also - what is more interesting from BPB perspective - loads of great concerts and DJ gigs - through 4 days and 3 nights.

The main stage include acts like Pendulum, Infected Mushroom, Beardyman, Dub FX, Parov Stelar - and Scooter! Quite massive for a Hungarian festival in my opinion, some really big names out there, plus some true Hungarian favorites (you know who I'm talking about...). The Party Arena is also great, especially on Thursday, the electro dubstep/day with Chase & Status doing a DJ set, followed by Steve Aoki. On Friday it gets a bit techier with Umek and Popof headlining, while Saturday will be the night of house, with John Dahlbäck and Nick Warren. Meanwhile the third stage, MEEX Tuborg Stage will host Hungarian bands and some of the most popular DJs.

So, I offer you some DJ sets to warmup for the upcoming days, sorted by the day of their event. Check them out! Also you can find the party info below!

THURSDAY:
CHASE & STATUS
STEVE AOKI

FRIDAY:
UMEK

SATURDAY:
BEARDYMAN
JOHN DAHLBACK
NICK WARREN

And plus one for Saturday from Gyurex, who smashed in some of the biggest recent electro his into 60 minutes - including Dillon Francis, Dada Life, Kaskade vs. Skrillex and more! He's gonna play on the MEEX Tuborg Stage, don't forget to check him out aswell!

Preview time

After the freebies, here are some excellent releases (or to-be-releases) you should watch out for. I tried to make an eclectic selection from disco to dubstep, let's see!

Milan-based La Valigetta imprint released the Quakers & Mormons - Evolvotron Remixed EP yesterday. Here's a wide range of remixes from Lenno & Xinobi's disco through the Ackeejuice Rockers' & Fire Flowerz's moombahton approach to Casa del Mirto's italo sound.

One of my favorite labels, Lektroluv is gonna release 4 more remixes for The Subs' "Decontrol". D.I.M.'s banger is my choice here, but the Marseille, Aquarius Heaven and Elektropusher remixes and are also really nice. You only have to wait a few days, since the release is 14th November.

Now to electro. Hungarian producer Planet Noize put up this sample of his forthcoming track called Titan. Pure peaktime electro action here and also some quality production. He already had releases on Plasmapool, while remixing Mord Fustang recently. You should watch out for this guy!

The next release on Big Alliance Records won't be easy too! Rektchordz delivered a 4/4 monster called Filthy Inspiration (indeed it's filthy), with 2 remixes from Monolythe & Jeff T, both making the tune even harder. And if it's still not enough for you, check out the preview of the "b-side", "Doomology" an evil dubstep creature. Release date: 14th November

And I left the hardest one for the end. We all used to Bratkilla's destroying dubstep tunes, but this one takes it even further. He calls it "deathstep", so be careful. Also Bratkilla's gonna visit Budapest this month, I bet this one will be there aswell. Enjoy "Strength"!

Free Track Roundup! #7

OK, this is gonna be huge! I know, no posts yesterday, but now I've got some cracking new tunes for you! Let's go!

Let's start with this monster I received from Incahoots. You might remember him for his collab with Will Bailey on Swagga. This time, he made a huge electro bootleg of Knife Party's "Internet Friends". Wonderful banger, essential one for every electro jockey out there so grab it!

Just to stay on the harder side, Midnight Conspiracy put up this free remix of their tune "Discord", made into a dubstep monsta by Tolgar. It features a nice, friendly intro that drops into a massive evil bassline - nice! I would check this out too.

I'm also huge fan of LA-based Peacetreaty and now they finally released their great remix of Diplo & Oliver Twizt's new track "Go". They always deliver quality remixes and this is no exception. Usual peaktime sound, wonderful sounds, quality stuff! PLUS: Mad Decent was kind enough to make it a freebie...Xmas comes early this year!

Still not over! Comic Strips tearing it up these days with heavily favored bootlegs and releases on labels such as Bazooka. This time he made a free remix of Eddy's "Metaphysical". Electro all the way, with some nice vocals - listen, download, share!

One more to go, though it's not a free track, but still essential. Bart B. More's newest promo mix for his Asian tour, 1 hour pleasure with some well known tracks (Bodywork, Tric Trac, Partys over Los Angeles), some new ones (TAI remix of Traction) and some unreleased gems (BBM & Tai's bootleg of 2 Unlimited). Don't miss this one either!
