PREVIEW: Russ Yallop - The Journey

Damian Lazarus' label already put up some high standards during the last few years or I can say even this week with the release of Jamie Jones' "Moan & Groan". However it seems like Crosstown Rebels just can't stop mashing out premium house tracks from the best producers. Just check out the newest installment with Russ Yallop featuring Aimee Sophia and Belle on the originals while Huxley takes care of the remixing duties.

A warped ride for the senses, "The Journey" is a wave of filthy house, eerie chords, heavy sub bass and those hauntingly vocals. The overall effect is darkly addictive as the B-side "How I Feel" retains the same spacious bass heavy mood with more bounce in the bass-line. Huxley's debut features two takes on "The Journey" which are both more vigorous club work-outs. The remix has added bleeps and a more pumping garage groove while the dub is the beast with the techier edge.

01. The Journey (feat. Aimee Sophia)
02. The Journey (Huxley remix)
03. The Journey (Huxley dub)
04. How I Feel (feat. Belle)

The Dante GBRL Podcast 005

I would like to close out Wednesday with the newest episode of my really own podcast. As some of you may know Dante GBRL is the man behind the whole Budapest Bonkers project and I'm not just a lad who enjoys blogging a lot, but also an aspiring (ok, just say wannabe) DJ as well.

I took a few advices regarding my track selection, so I don't want to play out just the newest tunes but also started digging in the crates and found some pretty nice stuff that is 3-4 years old but perfectly fits the sound of 2013.

So I encourage you to leave comments on Soundcloud, on the BPB Facebook wall or via e-mail (bpbonkers@gmail.com) cause I'm really curious what you think about my mixes.

Dilligas - Loud EP

One thing is for sure: DILLIGAS has arrived. We don't know too much about them/him/her yet, but one thing is for sure. They are debuting on the newly born Ciao Records, which already featured the new Crookers tracks earlier.

Well, at least they provided me an introductory mixtape which seems quite fancy and what really makes it special is the fact that it only features original, previously unreleased material. The debut release also coming really soon (just check the cover) and includes a collab with the Crookers and a solo original tune titled "Slow Things Down".

Take a listen and if you like them, show some love on Facebook as well: www.facebook.com/DILLIGASSS

PREVIEW: Shadow Dancer - Unspeakable Things / Breakable

German future techno label GND Records has been flying high during the last 12 months, they releases getting more and more support as the techno sound is starting to reach its renaissance. Let's what they are up to with their newest release coming from Manchester duo Shadow Dancer!

Two fresh tunes in which they dig deep into their Detroit techno and electro roots, showcasing their love of dramatic motor city sounds whilst producing their own bass-driven futuristic take, using a seamless mixture of analogue and digital sounds. First you are invited to do all sorts of 'Unspeakable Things' on the dancefloor, with a fat electro bassline and bleepy synths on the verge of meltdown riding over scattershot beats. Then 'Breakable' takes you on a more hypnotic journey with techno percussion, live bass, ecstatic female vocals and soaring pads. Don't forget that these guys are just featured on the newest Turbo compilation as well!

The release already gathered massive support from A-Trak, Funk D'Void, French Fries, NT89, Keith & Supabeatz, Autokratz and many more.

PREVIEW: Davina - 9 Weeks EP

After yesterday's preview of the new Waifs & Strays EP, here's some other hotness coming from a Hot Creations sister label - this time from Hot Trax. After the huge success of the first two releases - courtesy of Jamie Jones and Patrick Podage - the new installment is coming from a French lady named Davina. Let's see what we've got here!

The A Side "9 Weeks" is a massive groover which already got heavy support from label big boss Jamie Jones (and one of the highlights of Boiler Room coverages lately). On the flip we have "Moskitoes" which introduces dirty little vocal fills and stabs effectively punctuate the heavy rolling rhythms to keep those dancefloors dancing.

PREVIEW: Waifs & Strays - It's Over / If You Love Me

There are not many hotter combinations in house music right now than pairing up the Waifs & Strays duo with the Hot Creations label. Well, not exactly, as this marvellous release is coming on the sister label, Hot Waves but I'm still happy to share you the result.

"It's Over" - already championed by Pete Tong on his Essential Selection - is a really moving house track with a nice bumpy bassline and some vocal cuts - it perfectly fits the label's trademark sound and I'm also quite sure that it will move loads of dancefloors during the summer seasons.

"If You Love Me" is a deeper, more evil piece of music which will perfectly compliment the beauty of warm up sets. For me, it's a great sunset track, sipping some red wine at Lake Balaton. The guys absolutely nailed, huge EP!

Taste it!

PREVIEW: Majestique - Must Get There (incl. Dubka & Drop Out Orchestra remixes)

I just can't stop posting previews - this one is an excellent summer anthem (just check that fantastic cover) from Eskimo Recordings from Dutch guys Majestique including remixes from nu-disco heavyweight Dubka and Drop Out Orchestra.

The Dutch duo grew up in the mid eighties while listening to the likes of Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis and Giorgio Moroder. With sudden access to unlimited analog machines, it felt like a higher power was trying to tell these guys it was time to create something timeless in a digital era where music is consumed so quickly. The magical original track is supported by the remixes of Martin Dubka and blog favorites Drop Out Orchestra.

PREVIEW: Vhyce - Damn EP

Malente's No Brainer Records has provided some really cool and trendsetting releases so far from the likes of Slap in the Bass, Don Rimini, B-Ju and the label head honcho himself as well. The newest outing is coming from none else than Belgian producer Vhyce who provides 3 original bootybusters with remixes coming from Hot Creations' Bubba and MA1 from London.

The title track "Damn" is a really instense piece of techy house with Bubba adding some Chicago flavour on the remix duties. Some really strong stabs and basslines describe the other reworked track "Ostil" with Rinse FM's MA1 putting together some analogue business on the remix duties (just before releasing his very own EP on No Brainer!). "You Were Wrong" is completing the release with a melodic deep house offering.

The release already gained huge support from the likes of Fake Blood, Crookers, Andre Crom, DJ Zinc, Mumbai Science and many others!

And now some nasty and sexy house music! True to their name, NastyFunk Records added their 13th installment with the second collaboration between the Newbie Nerdz and Fractales! The guys created two dancefloor bangers with some additional coolness coming from Giom and Lee M. Kelsall!

"This is You" is a perfect peaktimer with a chip of uplifting sounds, while Giom takes it in a whole new direction with bombing the dancefloor some disco sounds. The other track which is certainly not just a b-side, "Hudson River" creates an old school piano madness with Lee M. Kelsall creating a somewhat indie-ish re-edit of this beauty. The Knocks feat. St. Lucia - Modern Hearts (TMX remix)

The collaboration of The Knocks and St. Lucia has been one of the biggest highlights when I'm thinking about these early summer days and I'm really sure that it is still growing and will slowly become one of the anthems of 2013.

That is one reason why I am particularly happy that a remix competition has been organised around the track (and hopefully I'll be able to create my own version too). The other one is that it'll be picked up and loads of new and exciting versions will come along the way. For instance, Kollektíva head-honcho TMX decided to remix this beauty and create his own version - which is suitable to play it out in the peak hours!

I let you to do the listening but beware: the bassline is really strong in this one, so don't expect some wine-sipping sunset pleasure. Oh, and don't forget to show Tamás some love on Facebook if you enjoyed the remix!

Fedde Le Grand - Dark Light Sessions 043 (2013-05-25)

Hey everyone, it's Monday which isn't really the best day of the week but I've got loads of great new music today so I've decided to start out with a bit of EDM from the weekend.

As you might noticed the blog is going more and more into the deeper shades of electronic dance music. However, I still love certain electro and EDM tracks as well, and how Fedde Le Grand is managing to be both a headliner and a progressive thinking DJ is quite fantastic in my opinion. Therefore the Dark Light Sessions will be a regular feature on BPB from now on.

Let's kick it off with the 43th episode from last Saturday which include some massive new tunes from Marco V, Marcus Schössow & Sebjak and the long-awaited "Animal" from Martin Garrix.

Mat.Joe - Showtime EP

And you thought that I'm already out of awesome previews? Here you go, brand new EP coming on Off Recordings!

The Mat.Joe duo  from Berlin proved to be a quintessential part of the new movement that fuses deep house beats with heavy basslines with hip hop and r&b influences. They come back strong with a new multitrack EP. No fillers here, everything is crafted to be an amazing dancefloor weapon.

"Showtime" starts up the party with a killer house groove topped with luscious hip hop vocals and ghetto arrangements while "Hypnotic" drops a supersexy r&b vocal hook and a bouncy bassline for yet another peak deep house bomb. Last comes "Somebody", a 909-infused house masterpiece with soul influenced vocals that will sure jack everyone's bodies.

On remix duties, with releases and features on Visionquest, Mobilee, Noir and Souvenir comes Forrest, who reworks "Somebody" into yet another dancefloor mover with a sub-bass driving groove that takes the vocal work to a different dimension.

Mario Basanov - Bill EP

Hailing from Lithuania, Mario Basanov has already conquered the world of house and nu-disco over the last few years. Releasing his own productions on big-shot labels such as Needwant and Nurvous, while remixing for Get Physical Music, Audio Tonic and many other is a sign that you are doing something really well.

This time he is returning to Needwant for a 3-track EP, which includes only originals, only dancefloor bombing club tracks and which will find its way to many record boxes for sure.

Dante GBRL - May 2013 Promo Mixtape

So, as I've decided to run the blog properly again, I also prepared a 60-minute mixtape, just to celebrate this (not so) special occasion.

As you might know me or my mixes, you will clearly hear that I tried to emphasize somehow the sound of the season - which in this case - means sounds of the summer. Also, I couldn't miss out playing some of the superb free stuff that I got during the last few days from producers like Dirty Secretz, Thee Cool Cats, Cassian and Redondo!

Please enjoy this one hour of deep house, nu disco, indie disco and every other genre that I can't really name right now (and may think of me if you're organising a cool party and looking for a DJ)!

PREVIEW: Burnski & M A N I K - YJG (Yellow Jacket Girl) (incl. Maxxi Soundsystem & Laura Jones remixes)

The Los Angeles based super hip label Culprit has always been one to watch for and so far in 2013 they are delivering some way too cool tunage again.

Not just they signed a track that perfectly fits those summer open-air or rooftop deep house parties from a house music superteam, but they got Maxxi Soundsystem and lady-of-the moment Laura Jones on remix duties too.

I think this whole EP is a delight, and thankfully we don't have to wait for it so long as the release date is set for next Monday - 20th May!

Until then, enjoy these previews!
