BPB Party Planner: StayFly /w Danny Daze & Miguel Campbell (04-08, Sunday)

Easter Sunday will be really unique for Hungarian partygoers this year, since the StayFly crew brings in 2 DJs, who never been to Budapest before. The massive Sunday night lineup includes Miami-based,  Danny Daze, and Miguel Campbell - and the first ever Hot Creations label night in BP!

Talking about the relations between the duo and the Hot Creations imprint, both guys pumping out massive releases on one of the most charted labels last year (Danny's "Your Everything" was one of my tune of the year candidates for 2011 btw), bringing back the funky and sexy sounds to house music.

Miguel Campbell's own solo project and his side-project with Matt Hughes called MAM also created a massive stir, culminating in the fantastic release of "Crushed Ice". I think before you take a visit to one of the most elegant clubs in Buda, you should check out some warmup material! As usual, here are some warmup treatments, fairly new sets from Danny & Miguel! Check it out!

Your Guide to the Weekend Episode 08 - mixed by DAVID GRAVELL

And now, I'm really happy and proud to announce the first official guestmix on the Budapest Bonkers blog! It comes from none other than the super-talented dutch house magician David Gravell!

Teaming up with fellow producer Mirwais, David already got releases on Laidback Luke's Mixmash Records and Funkerman's Flamingo Records, while his solo productions made it to labels like Spinnin' and Visionair Records. He also got some really nice freebies on his Soundcloud page, so I strongly advise you to visit those links at the end of this post!

Talking about the mix, this time it's a long weekend, so you'll got a bigger dose of weekend warmup (yea, I know it's Saturday already) - 55 minutes of pumping house and electro, even I couldn't describe the BPB sound better than David did in this set. It also includes a world-premiere, the first play of David's brand new production called "Final Fantasy", while he spins some rocking beats from Nicky Romero, Qulinez and many more!

Pete Tong - The Essential Selection (2012-04-06)

Hey everyone! As the first part of the Budapest Bonkers weekend treats, I would like to present the latest edition of Pete Tong's Essential Selection, the legendary BBC Radio 1 show. As usual, Pete takes us for a 2-hour ride to the newest and most hip electronic dance music, let's see what we've got this week!

Kicking off with the brand new Soulwax remix of Joe Goddard's "Gabriel", Sander van Doorn’s longed-for, new original with Mayaeni, entitled "Nothing Inside", makes its second appearance while the downright cool Pnau revamp of an Elton John classic is evidently still etched on Tong’s brain. Porter Robinson's brand new track "Language", and the brand new collab of Tiesto and Wolfgang Gartner gets plays.

Also, Pete sets aside some time to shed further light on Alesso’s well-received Essential Mix from two weeks ago and Cadenza’s very own Robert Dietz presents this week’s hot mix.

Dante GBRL's Spring Break Mixtape 2012

Hey everyone, it's time for the spring break in Hungary, so I decided to make another Spring Break Mixtape, after last year's quite popular mix (which was also one of my first promo mixes!).

60-minutes of electro, house with a bit of disco and future techno. Unfortunately, I've decided to put up the tracklist after 200 plays on Soundcloud, so this will be a kind of ID contest (the winner gets bragging rights). Though I give you some clues, the mix contains a banging track from the brand new Dim Mak New Noise volume 2 compilation, some new "WMC-flavoured" mashups, a great track from Italian label La Valigetta and, as the closing track a monstrous remix of a Digitalism track. Take a listen, enjoy, download, share!

Sub Focus - Out of the Blue remixes

29th April marks the release of the newest EPIC single from Sub Focus, called "Out of the Blue" featuring vocals from the lovely Alice Gold. Let's see what the package will contain!

The original mix describes the Sub Focus perfectly. Drum & bass beats with monstrous basslines, dreamy melodies - exactly what you expect from him.
Sub Focus - 'Out The Blue' by Sub Focus

For me, the most interesting piece among the remixes comes from Laidback Luke, with his perfect blend of dutch house and electro. I always love remixing crossovers between genres, and I think Mercury Records hit the jackpot with this one. Already supported by Pete Tong, and of course played by Luke everywhere.
'Out The Blue' Feat. Alice Gold (Laidback Luke Remix) by Sub Focus

A release like this cannot miss a huge bassline-driven dubstep remix, with some beautiful breakdowns. This time, it is delivered by Xilent.
Sub Focus - 'Out The Blue' (Xilent Remix) by Sub Focus

The remix of xxxy completes the package. I don't want to blabber about genres, it's really hard to categorize it, but it's great. 4/4 beats, chilling atmosphere, great compliment to the harder sounds of the other two remixes.

The Sneekers - Modern Pleasure remixes

The Sneekers is mostly known for their club hits "Poly Poly" and "G.A.S." which are still widely supported by artists around the globe (from Mumbai Science, Alex Gopher and Digitalism to Etienne de Crecy, TWR72, Bart B. More, The Loops of Fury and beyond). Recently, the Lithuanian duo finished remixes for Hervé and Elektropusher (Cheap Thrills),while they presenting the remixes of the last year released Modern Pleasure EP on GND Records.

The remixes on the EP are delivered by Shinichi Osawa (who is producing the amazing Singapore Swing Album and remixes for Etienne de Crecy, The Subs and Fisherspooner), Elektropusher (who destroyed dancefloors all over the world with his Single "18%" and remixes for The Subs and Tommie Sunshine), Jibberdee (who is a very talented upcoming producer from Holland), I Need? (who are better known for their single releases on GND Records - "Jupiter" & "Supa Dopa") and Die Swans (who is also a very talented upcoming producer from Manchester). I hope you'll enjoy this amazing remix package, release date is set for 13th April! Also watch out for the forthcoming new The Sneekers EP in May this year!

Mustard Pimp feat. ZE! - The Amazons remixes

We didn't wait too long for the first single off Mustard Pimp's freebie album "No Title or Purpose". "The Amazons" featuring ZE! is a devilish piece of music, great crossover of many styles so it's really hard to put a genre tag on it, but it will definately make everyone dance in a club.

Dim Mak Records put together a huge remix pack, releasing not less than 7 remixes - though I have to admit the original is a quite fun track to remix. Big names, such as Clockwork and Reset! never disappointed me, they brought their trademark sound creating nice electro and turbofunk remixes. Up and coming Casino Gold gives a torching new techno treatment, aswell as Jägerverb whose remix is a bit more laid back, perfect for warmups. NYC-based Black Matter's remix fits the label catalogue best in my opinion with its fierce electro basslines, while we also got a nice eclectic remix from Korea, produced by Risque Rhythm Machine.

I saved my favorite remix for last, coming from Nom de Strip. Not the usual stuff that you would expect him, but superb party track, excellent work! Check all the remixes, and pick a favorite - and don't be shy to tell which one you've selected!

Gemini - Fire Inside EP

Leicester-based Thomas Slinger, or better known as Gemini got a new EP released today on Inspected. His latest big hit was a collab with Feed Me, called "Whiskers" which tore up dancefloors all around the floor. Now let's see what we've got here!

The EP kicks off with the title track "Fire Inside": a monstrous electro house piece, including the vocals of the beautiful Greta Svabo Bech. Powerful basslines and a really hard beat lead the track's way to a gorgeous piano lead that ends it up (no wonder it's been supported on BBC Radio 1 a lot...). "No Way Out" is a perfect listening pleasure with all the pianos and dreamy melodies as we get to the EP's 3rd track "To The World", which is a destroying dubstep track. Gemini got a breakdown here with some nice vocals, however the bassline is pure evil. "Nothingness" completes the EP, with its laidback melancholic atmosphere. Check out the full-length previews!

Hey Today! - 83 EP + mixtape

French label Kitsuné is really on fire nowadays. Today, Hamburg-based Hey Today! premiered his new EP, coming on soon on the forementioned imprint, titled "83".

The original mix is a pumping piece of electro, which - I assume - will be a huge favorite among DJs, it's a perfect floorfiller. The remix duties are taken over by Zongamin, who claims to be Hey Today's one of all-time favorites - his remix is a bit laidback, smoother than the original, but still got a great groove. The other remix comes from Argentinian mega-talent Toomy Disco who merges the original into a beautiful nu-disco track. Hey Today's "Guru Guro", which supposed to be the b-side of the release, though it still brings a lot of energy to this massive release with its techy sounds.

Release date is set for 23th April 2012. Check out the previews!

Hot Mouth - Habits EP

Chris Lake's label Rising Music continues with its run of success following on from the huge Beatport #1 "Funky Vodka" with another great EP.

This time sees former LA Riots member Jon Pegnato, and his new project Hot Mouth making its debut release on the label. His EP "Habits" consists of two club worthy belters, both infused with techy drums and undulating bass lines. With rising arpeggios leading the way in Bad Habits - Good Habits takes the more electro approach with resonating, choppy leads building throughout.

Both great tracks making up a standout EP from Hot Mouth and another surefire winner on Rising Music. Release date set for 30th March so you can grab it right now!

The Boomzers - Two is Missing EP

For everybody out there afraid of The Boomzers softening up and not pushing all limiters to the very extreme, well, don´t worry, these two freakazoids are still pumped as hell and over loaded with excessive adrenaline.

Because these three block rocking tracks on their up and coming release  Two Is Missing EP can surely pack a punch. Responsible for this deadly deed are the one and only true maniacs behind  Freakz Me Out records, home of the most wanted club criminals around the block.

The first musical discharge on the EP is  Overscream, a number which clearly displays their harmonic prowess. Stu and Brian serve a nutritious party platter with immoral monster  voices from beyond,  pulverizing beats and thrusting synth main theme. Quaterfoil gives us more of the same, this tune is made to deliver the goods in the fastest way possible, right up your raving anus.
Last but certainly not least is the title track Two Is Missing, 4,3,1 a warranted dancefloor  top dog. This piece  again cries for attention with its detonating beats and forceful primary theme.

So anybody thirsting for pure club power,  The Boomzers are once again there to deliver!
