Eric Prydz presents EPIC Radio 008 (Mouseville Special)

It's always a special pleasure when Eric Prydz lays down a new episode of his EPIC Radio show (usually full of IDs and new, unreleased productions of him). Well, the newest episode goes in an even more special way, since Eric dedicated this show to his more techier alias called Cirez D - as you may know.

Brand new tracks and huge classics making a perfect mixture in more than 90 minutes of Eric Prydz, including his new, yet unreleased remix of Dirty South's "Champions" and the newest Cirez D track called "Drums in the Deep". Some of the storied classics include "Murder Was The Bass" by DK8 or the Deadmau5 remix of "Teaser".

Let it roll!

Dante GBRL - May 2013 Promo Mixtape

So, as I've decided to run the blog properly again, I also prepared a 60-minute mixtape, just to celebrate this (not so) special occasion.

As you might know me or my mixes, you will clearly hear that I tried to emphasize somehow the sound of the season - which in this case - means sounds of the summer. Also, I couldn't miss out playing some of the superb free stuff that I got during the last few days from producers like Dirty Secretz, Thee Cool Cats, Cassian and Redondo!

Please enjoy this one hour of deep house, nu disco, indie disco and every other genre that I can't really name right now (and may think of me if you're organising a cool party and looking for a DJ)!

It's Wednesday so it was about time to get our dirty little hands on the newest episode of the Off Recordings Podcast. This time it is hosted by Sao Paulo-based duo Dashdot who are responsible for the 55th release on the label, and has been creating quite a stir in the up-and-coming Brazilian deep house scene.

Regarding the mix, the guys taken quite a unique approach as they handled the podcast as a kind of introductory mix, stuffing it with ten of their original tracks, their brand new remix for fellow countryman Saccao plus an exclusive bootleg of Shakedown's timeless classic "At Night". Enjoy!

PREVIEW: Burnski & M A N I K - YJG (Yellow Jacket Girl) (incl. Maxxi Soundsystem & Laura Jones remixes)

The Los Angeles based super hip label Culprit has always been one to watch for and so far in 2013 they are delivering some way too cool tunage again.

Not just they signed a track that perfectly fits those summer open-air or rooftop deep house parties from a house music superteam, but they got Maxxi Soundsystem and lady-of-the moment Laura Jones on remix duties too.

I think this whole EP is a delight, and thankfully we don't have to wait for it so long as the release date is set for next Monday - 20th May!

Until then, enjoy these previews!

Preview: No Artificial Colours - Crying Wolf EP

I've been posting loads of mixes nowadays and this resulted in a major cutback of previews. Well, it has to change! First up here's the British duo No Artificial Colours' brand new EP titled "Crying Wolf" on MadTech Records. Release date set for 27 May 2013.

Kicking off with the title track, "Crying Wolf" with Alex Mills on the vocals who was already featured on Miguel Campbell’s "Something Special" - not a new name to house lovers then. The cut embraces an old school house vibe with a playful organ melody as the groove keeps you rolling. Nice one!

Next up is "Restless Souls" where the duo collaborates with Cari Golden who has already appeared on labels like Mobilee or Crosstown Rebels. The record employs bumpy 909 drums, a modern tipped bass hook and heavily reverberated vocal licks as its driving force, keeping things classy and understated.

"Love" closes out the EP with its simple yet effective Hammond bass-line teaming up with some smooth percussions, again resulting a delightful new-age house track.

Off Recordings Podcast Episode 96 - mixed by Vanilla Ace

It is Tuesday which means it is time for another podcast episode from one of the hottest deep house/nudisco imprints, Off Recordings.

The newest episode of the series is coming from Vanilla Ace who is responsible for the newest EP on the label too - not so surprisingly, released today too.

Let's take a look at the mix itself! Of course Vanilla Ace - who previously had releases on labels such as Toolroom Records, Southern Fried, Floorplay - took the opportunity to feature most of his current work. The label's newest releases are lined up here too with the new Marlon Hoffstadt and Dansson collaboration or Jay West and Manuel Sahagun's "Fool Me" with its Andre Crom treatment.

The Magician - Magic Tape 32

Yet another month has gone by and as we are slowly sliding into the summer, it's time for another portion of these Magic Tapes provided by the man himself, The Magician. As even the cover speaks for itself, we are in for a magical 40-minute treat as the days get longer and the nights get shorter.

The only slight bad taste in my mouth is that not just the nights but this edition got shorter too, as the Belgian nu-disco mastermind provided us with 1-hour magic lectures so far.

Anyhow, let the ID hunt begin as the mixtape is full of hot new stuff including the likes of Jessie Ware or Vanilla Ace for instance.

Huxley - Live @ Rinse FM (2013-04-15)

I was browsing through the interwebs for some sick mixtapes to play out during these sunny days. when I've stumble upon this pretty decent mixtape from man-of-the-moment, Huxley.

Mr. Dodman - currently known for his massive new track "Bellywedge" (released on Hypercolour and was championed by Pete Tong as "Essential New Tune")  - has really made it in the last 1,5-2 years. Both his original productions and remixes (just think of his rework of Maxxi Soundsystem's "Stella's Way") has gained and gaining major support from house DJs all over the globe.

This 2-hour set perfectly introduces Huxley's sound, his garage roots, his upcoming favorites. I'm really hoping that we'll hear him really soon in Budapest as well. Until then, enjoy this mixtape!

John Digweed - Transitions 451 (Hot Since 82 guestmix) (2013-04-19)

Well folks, it's been a while since my last post here on the blog. The last 3 weeks flew by quite fast, but finally I'm back again. I would like to make up for the long outage, and post some of my favorite stuff from last weekend, before jumping into the pool of this week's action.

John Digweed's radio show "Transitions" is heading in full speed towards it's 500th edition, and last Friday's show was a burner as well. While John played some mental promo stuff again such as the Deetron remix of the upcoming Hot Natured single, Chaim's new track on Visionquest or a haunting Audion remix of Footprintz's "Uncertain Change".

This time the guestmixer ain't a rookie. In my opinion Hot Since 82 is not just an up-and-coming producer anymore, he's one of the best established new names on the house scene with various releases on some major labels. Let's enjoy the 2-hours of house music greatness!
