038. Jonas Rathsman - Bringing You Down [FRENCH EXPRESS]

French Express was one of the top labels in houseland in 2012 and this did not change in 2013, mainly thanks to Jonas Rathsman's fantastic track.

037. Phoenix - Chloroform (Jamie Jones re-edit) [FREEBIE]

Though it is a free re-edit by the Hot Creations head honcho, it totally sums up the atmosphere of an Ibiza sunset.

036. Little Boots - Broken Records (The Shapeshifters remix) [ON REPEAT]

The "I Follow Rivers" of 2013.

035. Forrest - The Game (FreakMe remix) [MEXA]

Haunting, deep, dark - an exceptional deep progressive track with a stunning vocal.

034. Grass is Greener & Samsara Brothers - Cruel Summer (DJ Lutique remix) [NURVOUS]

A wonderful summer anthem all the way - it could even top Mannel's 2004 revamp of the Ace of Base original.

033. Drake - Hold On We're Going Home (Kastle remix) [FREEBIE]

A fan of the original, not a fan of Drake though - but a massive fan of EVERYTHING from Kastle.

032. Tube & Berger feat. Juliet Sikora - Set It Off [KITTBALL]

As it was released in December it was still so infectious to climb near to the top 30 in even two weeks' time.

031. Grum - The Theme [HEARTBEATS]

My perception is that every sound that Grum touches turns into gold. "The Theme" is not only a magical nudisco track, but this position is also for his other single came out last year "In Love".

I've got to say that this was the best Aeroplane remix in 2013 for me.

What a groovy house monster from the foggy Britain!




048. Catz N Dogz & KiNK - Good Love [PETS RECORDINGS]
Another stellar Catz N Dogz collaboration, this time with KiNK - the result was an excellent EP with "Good Love" being the best track on it.




047. Wankelmut feat. Emma Louise - My Head is a Jungle [POESIE MUSIK]
Following his massive success in 2012, Wankelmut did not stop in 2013 either - his year was highlighted by this superb vocal track.




046. Oliver - MYB [FOOL'S GOLD]
Oliver was one of the loudest newcomers in the last year, A-Trak's label hit the jackpot with this track.




045. Ben Pearce - What I Might Do (Simion remix) [HEDONISM MUSIC]
Considering that the original was a megahit in 2012, this new remix took it to the next level with its sexy grooves.




044. Hot Natured - Isis (Magic Carpet Ride) [FFRR]
The Hot Natured artist album was definitely a huge hit, and finally this masterpiece saw a release as well after nearly 3 years of waiting.




043. Pryda - Layers [PRYDA]
Eric Prydz's best production from the last year - in my opinion.




042. Zagar - Space Medusa (KuriouSS remix) [MOLE]
The only Hungarian track in the top 100, excellent original electronica track but KuriouSS absolutely took it to a whole new level.



041. Close feat. Charlene Soraia & Scuba - Beam Me Up (George Fitzgerald remix) [K7]
And George Fitzgerald again..."Beam Me Up" received massive airplay from nearly all of the top house jocks around the globe.

Danny Daze - Silicon EP

So, here's the first massive preview of 2014. Danny Daze's brand new EP is coming on 17 February 2014 on Jimmy Edgar's Ultramajic imprint.

Danny, a self-confessed lover of classic electro, the 3 tracks present contain the mechanical aesthetics and skewed sonics of the labels he holds close to heart, whilst packing an undeniable punch that will see these drawn for time and time again.

                                                                                                                                              

Released on 12” vinyl and digital, Daze is the first in a whole slew of acts to be welcomed onto the roster over the course of the year, and marks another exciting chapter for the burgeoning label.

The music video for this track made quite a stir, although the Louis La Roche remix deserves it too!

Simion is destined for huge things in 2014!


#63. Blende - Rikki [ESKIMO]
Rikki was easily one of the most danceable nudisco tracks of the year.


#62. Pool - Flex (Aeroplane remix) [DIYNAMIC]
Great disco version of the Danish band's track with the usual high standard work by Aeroplane.


#61. Ten Walls - Requiem [LIFE & DEATH]
The bassline in this one rocked a huge number of dancefloors since its debut in ADE.

Hardwell - On Air (Yearmix 2013)

I rarely post EDM tracks or mixes nowadays - I should do it more often (this must be a new year's resolution). As the end of the year is all about the holidays, best of lists and other celebrations, I think the recently crowned no. 1 DJ totally deserves a post here.

Your Guide to the Weekend Episode 023 (Holiday Edition) - mixed by Dante GBRL

It's Thursday evening, which could only mean one thing for a BPB follower: the newest edition of "Your Guide to the Weekend"! Well, the holidays are slowly but surely approaching, and we still have one more weekend to rock out. Dedicated to this fact, I've made this week's edition an extended one with house and nudisco tunes for more than 90 minutes.

As this is a special occassion, the mix focuses on this year's most entertaining tunes and also warms you up for next week's 2-hour long "Best of 2013" edition as well. There are some new tracks though such as the new Lefthose remix, Don Diablo and CID's collaboration on "Got Me Thinkin" and that superb Jonas Rathsman remix of this year's biggest Ibiza hit by Monkey Safari.

Venice Valley feat. MMM - Answers

The debut single of the highly talented Venice Valley duo called "Stay" caused quite a stir in the Hungarian music industry (and in blogland as well), so I was quite curious how they will keep up the strong start. Well, they didn't let me down.

The guys teamed up with the Norwegian girl duo MMM to release "Answers". The song itself is available for a few weeks now, and finally, a superb video has arrived too. The aim was to recreate a late 90s feeling with stunning dance moves and pretty girls - I think this was accomplished quite well.

The song itself pursues that airy, indie pop feel that characterised "Stay", except for a bit of dark touch: "Answers" raises the question of what would you do in such unbalanced situations when you're absolutely running low while you're partner is rising high (or the way around), how would you react in these situations when words are definately not enough. FREE: Par-T-One vs. INXS - I'm So Crazy (Lefthose remix)

I was scrolling through my e-mails when I discovered this promo from Italian producer Lefthose. I thought that let's take a look at this track, the artwork seems quite nice too. Then I heard this bassline, and it totally stuck in my head.

Lefthose made an excellent remix of Par-T-One's "I'm So Crazy" which was released earlier in 2012 on Erick Morillo's Subliminal imprint. The infectious UK garage bassline complimented with the effects and percussions from the original merges into a superb track. And yes, it's a free download, so it gets even better.
