Hey, it's already February for a few days now, so you can anticipate, that there's a BPB Promo Mixtape coming up soon, and if you do, then you're right. I always try to make this monthly set a bit different, than the usual radio mixtapes by covering the whole sound that Budapest Bonkers want to represent - which is of course, an impossible mission, as there are so many really nice tracks that left out. Also, I would like to share some news with you, regarding Budapest Bonkers. I only hope that the number of posts will rise even more, I'm trying to post more previews and mixtapes and also trying to widen up the musical scale of the blog.Maybe that's why I've decided to start out a new segment from next week aswell.
During the recordings of the weekly radio show I found out, that as a DJ my sound keep changing from month to month, and it is really hard to show everything you want in just 60 minutes per week. So I decided to split up the styles in 2 different mixes every week. From now on the Budapest Bonkers Radio Show will mainly focus on the nu-disco, tech-house, chunky house or new techno sound, that I'm really into right now - while I'm also happy to present the new segment called Your Guide to the Weekend! - this will be a 40-minute mixtape, posted every Thursday (mostly mixed by me, but I really hope to invite some guestmixers aswell!) that will cover the electro, dubstep and moombahton needs, aswell as house music.

I'm really looking forward to the future, the blog is only 4 months old and it is doing really well so far. Hope you find it good too, if you've got any comments, ideas, or anything that is on your mind, regarding Budapest Bonkers: don't hesitate!

BPB Party Planner: Kollektiva /w Slap in the Bass @ Corvintető (02-09, Thursday)

It's been a long time, since I've written a party preview for a Thursday night, but I have to make an exception this time. My favorite DJ team Kollektiva invade Corvintető as usual on Thursday, but this time it is a special occasion. As we all know, February is none else than carnival season, so this month's Kollektiva Thursday all got special guests and special themes. First up, Hungary's number one global bass DJ duo Slap in the Bass gonna rock the decks. These guys from Veszprém are really on fire nowadays, getting releases on Southern Fried, No Brainer, Downright Music among many others, while remixing for the Crookers, Malente or Tocadisco - just to name a few. The guys also got a new EP coming up on No Brainer, including 2 collabs with Keith & Supabeatz and big remixes from His Majesty Andre, Douster, Astronomar and Jumo Daddy.

Before getting to those party infos, I prepared a warmup minimix for you, including my favorite Slap in the Bass tracks, I really hope it will give you a hint about what you gonna hear tomorrow night and also you will enjoy it!

Hey, it's been a while since the last post about moombahton (or should I say now "low BPM banging music"). After its really fast spread around the blogosphere, there's a big bunch of artists who are dedicate their work to the moombahton sound. Let's check out some upcoming releases, and freebies from the moombah business!

DPV & Techijo from Montreal aka the Dooze Jackers came up with two mega dancefloors bombs Monday on Soundcloud. Both "Poppin Up" and the title track "Why We Fwee" are destined to make a huge stir among DJs, so you guys better not miss out them. Its release due on 21st February on T&A Records, already supported by JFK from MSTRKRFT, J-Trick, Sazon Booya, ETC!ETC!, Willy Joy and a lot more!

Newcomers on BPB, but no newcomers to the moombah business, The Troopers are hailing from Veszprém, Hungary. They already remixed My Gift to You and Hungarian moombah master Kovary, while producing their own tracks aswell. I decided to post their latest refix, which changes Feed Me's Strange Behaviour into a 100 BPM creature. Pretty interesting result, if you enjoyed it, please throw a like to the guys on FACEBOOK aswell!

Not really moombahton, but still great global bass comes in big packages from Lisbon-based label Enchufada. They recently put up previews of their newest release, two bangers by Savage Skulls, called "Lorimer" and "No. 1 Spot". I have to go with the latter, but really like both. If you like too, you can grab them on 20th February from Juno!

The BPB Selection #4

It's Monday again...so, with the weekly BPB Selection, I'll try to choose 5 tracks each week which - in my opinion - absolutely can't miss ones. There are no rules for genre, either it's a party banger or a listening pleasure, either it's brand new or a bit older (though I'll try to focus mainly on the newbies). Let's see what I've got for this week.

#5 Malente & Azzido da Bass - Hunting (Slap in the Bass remix)
Yep, it's a bit older track, released on Downright Music in the first half of 2011. Of course it is not a coincidence, that I post one of my favorite tracks from the Slap in the Bass guys, since I'm preparing a special minimix this week as a warmup for their Thursday night gig at Corvintető. Enjoy this one and watch out for some upcoming news in relation with the duo!

#4 Yolanda Be Cool feat. Crystal Waters - Le Bump (Tom Flynn remix)
Recently got released on Sweat It Out Music, Yolanda Be Cool and Crystal Waters made a great follow-up of Yolanda's megahit from 2010. The original mix is a pretty nice dancefloor bomb, but I still have to go with the Tom Flynn remix. With support from Pete Tong, Jaymo & Andy George and many others, this is the best remix in my opinion. Check out the full version here, if you haven't listened it yet!

#3 Parallel Dance Ensemble - Shopping Cart (Maxxi Soundsystem remix)
As being of the biggest fans of Maxxi Soundsystem's Make or Break EP from Needwant Records, I did some research and found out that Sam got a huge remix released on Permanent Vacation at the end of 2011. Absolutely gorgeous danceable tune, essential for every nu-disco fan out there!

#2 Disco of Doom - The 808
With this week's top two selections, I'm going with two really fresh tracks - and lucky for you, they're both available for free download on Soundcloud. Disco of Doom got the latest release on Discobelle label, and it was a hard pick, which track I should select - since I have to select one - so I went with the destroying robotic vocals and great effects. Preview Update: Mightyfools, AutoKratz, I Need?, AC Slater

Let's take a look around that what are we going to listen in the next few weeks. Some of my favorite producers are preparing great releases, so let's start the tour!

After the great success of the Thunderbad EP, Dutch Mightyfools duo prepared an exclusive track for Dr. Lektroluv's newest "Live in Brazil" compilation. "Get Down" is a massive peak-time bomb, just exactly what I've expected from the guys. Release on Lektroluv Records on 20th February.

The AutoKratz duo recently started their Bad Life project, along with a label aswell, so the guys are digging the business deep right now. Fortunately they also found some time to produce more Bad Life tracks, and spread their new techno sound around. "Splinters" is a great example of what will we see in the next months from this label. Great track, and also huge support already from the likes of Mumbai Science, NT89, Don Rimini, Mustard Pimp and many more.

German GND Records are also getting more and more attention in the last few months, since it they've got some really dope stuff, when it comes to chunky techno and house. Their newest little monster is a track called "Jupiter" produced by Brussels-based duo I Need? I'm simply in love with all the tracks, the remix duties were carried out by upcoming names: Clash The Disko Kids, Planisfear and LeBreton. Release date is 2nd March.

Still got one very exciting EP to go from AC Slater, who is presenting 2 new original tracks, called "Sidewinder" and "Little Chronic", coming on Sweat it out! soon, while both tracks are already supported by the likes of Jack Beats and Drop The Lime. I think I'll go with Sidewinder here, but this is a can't miss EP aswell. Enjoy!

Swedish Mixtape Madness

We definately have to agree to the fact, there's something in the Swedish air, since they just keep pumping out more and more big names on the house and electro scene. As we slowly saying goodbye to the dark January, I've compiled four really awesome mixtapes by Swedish greats. Dada Life is a not new name to electro fans worldwide, Sebjak got a huge remix coming out on Tony Senghore's Horehaus label, the Lunde Bros. coming up again with their massive weekly mixtape, while BPB also introduce a new duo, called Don Palm and their amazing mixtape. BPB Party Planner: UNITED /w Borgore, Nanophonyk @ Dürer Kert (02-03, Friday)

Yay! Budapest gonna be in the middle of huge dubstep festivities tomorrow night! UNITED, the biggest dubstep party series in Hungary gonna bring in Buygore mastermind Borgore for its 1st birthday (technically it was in November, but this is gonna be its event). So let's start out with the teaser video, then I'll have some warmup material for you. Check it out!

I think we can say that the party is some kind of "back to the roots". It's gonna be held in Dürer Kert, where the big story of the Robotrock team (the guys behind UNITED) started in 2009, so it's a really special event, that you don't really want to miss. 

It's not really hard to guess what's Borgore gonna play tomorrow night, hopefully loads of Buygore promos, plus his newest tracks and remixes, but it's always good to have a hint. Here I compiled his last BBC Radio 1 set for you, in case you want to get in the perfect mood for Friday.

Here's a mega update of what is coming up on the house front everyone! Several big names are about to release new EPs, we are heading fast to the end of March, when all the WMC festivities gonna happen, so fasten your seatbelts and let's go!

Let's start with BPB Favorite Mixmash Records and a really huge collab, that will tear apart the dancefloors: through the winning combination of Laidback Luke, Arno Cost and Norman Doray, each of them is able to bring their own signature sound to Trilogy. This track will make you feel a mixture of bounciness, hardcore vibrancy and progressive house chords like never heard before!

Also, Mixmash is about to start a new EP series, called "The Ones to Look Out For". Let's see what we've got here. The first volume is full of a big-room anthemic feeling from "Supersocks" brought by the British duo Ross & Longo, which is accompanied by the smashing tech-house twist from "Ping Pong" (Delivio Reavon & Aaron Gill) and the meringue/techno spice of "Califaction" (DJ DLG & Alternative Reality) that finally explodes in the criminal electro breakdown of "Festival Drums" (Dero). Each track is so similar and at the same time so different to each other, but one remains common for them all - the "wow" effect that takes over you right away!

With already getting hammered by Pete Tong, I'm sure this is gonna be a chartbreaker aswell, plus the release includes a big-massive re-edit from recent wonder from down under Tommy Trash!
